The twenty-first edition of the Maroc Challenge ended on Lake Yasmina, next to the charismatic Erg Chebbi, after an especially hard, exciting, intense, and very demanding week. The event, which was held from March 22 to 30, was characterised by crossing many new areas and the adverse weather conditions.

With 170 teams, the Spring 2024 started for the first time in Errachidia, where the verifications took place the previous day. This edition was characterised by numerous new features along the route, with different tracks that the event had never traversed before, including the end of the second stage in Tissint. The bivouac was located there and it was the furthest South the Maroc Challenge has reached in its 21 editions. The itinerary was especially demanding and technical, crossing some completely new areas.

The weather conditions added an extra level of difficulty and made this edition particularly tough. The lack of visibility, the sand and the wind made navigation very complicated in some sections, even affecting the navigation systems in some stages.

The tough conditions were very demanding, leaving the participants often exhausted, but the adventure turned out great: A Spring 2024 with all the essence of the Maroc Challenge, squeezing out the best from each and everyone and promoting an extraordinary atmosphere and coexistence.

The event was full of contrasts, from Errachidia to Merzouga. Zagora, Tissint, M’hamid and Erfoud, where a loop was arranged for the fifth stage. These towns hosted a Spring 2024, which passed through stretches of mountains, rivers and endless plains, with wonderful views and landscapes, alternating rocky areas with fast and slow tracks, including dirt, sand and dunes. The itinerary, as usual, was tailored to each of the categories so that the level of difficulty matched the possibilities of both the vehicles and the experience of the participants.

We are happy to announce that the winners in the different categories were the teams HT Motorsport (Raid), Mojacar Raid (Adventure TT3), Mamix (Adventure TT2), Peñita TTX (Adventure TT1), Yellow Snail (Adventure Lite), Rodem.cat (Adventure SUV), Sopedra 4×4 Autorosa (Adventure C4), Pedal Salvaje (Adventure C2) and Terra 4×4 Racing Team (Adventure C1).

The organisation is already working hard to prepare for the upcoming Winter 2024, which will be held from November 29 to December 7, registrations will open soon. The Maroc Challenge, which is fast establishing itself as one of the reference amateur events held in Morocco, will maintain the ‘one hundred percent’ desert spirit in the next winter edition.
