The 23rd edition of the Maroc Challenge, taking place from April 12 to 19, will feature 170 teams and a revamped route promising a tough, intense week full of sand and six stages packed with adventure.

Checks and the official start will take place in Saïdia, which will also host the finish line. The day before the rally begins, a 4-kilometre seaside prologue will determine the starting order for the first stage.

From a sporting perspective, sand and dunes will take centre stage during this Spring 2025, with three nights in Erfoud after crossing the Atlas Mountains via Midelt. The challenge will be at its peak, with difficulty levels adapted to each category. This time, all participants will have to cross the Erg Chebbi, one of the most iconic areas of the Moroccan desert, and face numerous sandy and dune-filled sections.

Two loop stages will be held in Erfoud, which participants can tackle with lighter vehicles, ensuring more reliability. These stages will feature vast sandy areas and explore remote, fun-to-drive desert zones. Besides the sand and dunes, these will be more technical stages, providing a contrast to the faster plains covered on the first and last two days.

The route has been redesigned compared to previous editions, exploring new desert zones in search of more excitement. It has been crafted to ensure participants enjoy this unique experience even more, making the event increasingly attractive and engaging.

Regarding participation, out of the 170 registered teams, 99 are Spanish, followed by Portuguese (32), French (10), and Italian (9). Spain leads with 60% of the entries for a Maroc Challenge that welcomes teams from 13 different countries — a figure that reflects the event’s growing international appeal. This Spring, the spectacular SSVs have been admitted and will lead the way on the route.

This promises to be one of the most adventurous, challenging and desert-heavy editions of the Maroc Challenge, further enhanced by a seaside prologue stage, the crossing of the Rekkam Plateau, and the ever-thrilling Atlas Mountains.
